Post 20 Mullingar (Co. Westmeath) was founded in 1997 by Peter Bracken, Larry Poynton, Murty Quinn and Kevin Johnston. Little did they know back then on a winter's night in 'D' Block Columb Barracks that membership would rise from the original four to today's healthy figure of over sixty. Indeed the swelling membership has now seen us make the inevitable move to our present home at No. 2 Millmount Road, Mullingar.

From Flag Blessing Ceremonies to St. Patrick's Day marches, the Post have now travelled to appropriate gatherings as far as Letterkenny, Cork, Wexford, Curragh Athy, Athlone, Cavan, Killkenny and Dublin. In 2001 we were delighted to host the IUNVA Annual General Conference at the beautiful Belvedere House in Mullingar. A huge undertaking for a relatively new Post which all the members met 'head on'.

Via various funding operations orchastrated by our excellent membership, we are able to provide support to both our members and other worth while causes connected to the IUNVA organisation. Our Annual Widows Social Night which invites widows and their families along to a social gathering is such an event and has become most successful.
