The
Irish United Nations Veterans Association decided in January
2000 to strike a medal to honour all those who have given
service to the organisation. This medal would be called 'The
Irish Unired Nation Veterans Association Service Medal. An
open competition was held within the organisation to design
the medal and Eddie Robinson from our own Post was the winner.
The
medal was struck in 2001 and presented to all members who
had served two (2) years with the organisation. A special
silver medal was also struck and was presented to The President
of Ireland on behalf of The Irish United Nations Veterans
Association in 2001.
